Thread: which sicilian ?

    Default which sicilian ?

    Hi everyone,

just recently i've been thinking about playing the sicilian najdorf. As much players know, this variation have plenty of theory. So i thought, to start with an "easier" sicilian, i.e. the classical system or the dragon. I would prefer the classical sicilian, because there are some typical motivs in the sicilian u are able to use. In the najdorf sicilian you often have to take a lot of risks to play for an advantage or for a win. So which variation would you recommend to start playing the sicilian defense?

I can show you some stuff on playchess if you like. Do you have headset with a micophone? In the past I used to play the Najdorf-variation, but I don't play it anymore. Carlsen played the dragon just a few days ago in in the London Chess Classic tournament. It seems you can even play the dragon in high class tournaments.
