Smile Magnus Carlsen plays Kings Gambit in Kings Tournament!

Carlsen plays the Kings Gambit in the Kings Tournament against elo 2752 opposition and wins! That is really great, because that could mean that the Kings Gambit is still a valid opening, even against the best players in the world!

    2...ef4 3.Nf3 g5 is more critical.

Yes, but Carlsen probably has done some analysis and didn't fear it. That's good news for the King-Gambit fans.

Thinking about it, Wang Yue is the most solid player in the 2700-club. Maybe Carlsen expected him to play a possitional line against the 2.f4 and by this he was on the safe way. Not sure though

BTW, is Wang Yue still rated over 2700?
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.
