    Default Your favorite chess book

My favorites are probably My 60 Memorable Games by Fischer and the huge huge puzzle books by the father of Polger sisters. What are yours?

Sooo many to choose from, a couple of lessor known books:

    Attacking technique by Crouch
    Streetfighting Chess by Burnett
Power Chess with Pieces by Timman
    Simple Chess by Stean

Other books than I'm a very proud owner of are:
    Kasparov Series
Botvinniks Best Games (volume of 3) printed by Moravian

It's a great book and it was one of my first chess books I read. Though, I agree with GM Thomas Luther who once said, that this old book are nice to read, but when it comes to chess those old books are the the first choice because some concepts are just wrong or has been improved over the years. He compared it to physic or math books: The old books from Galileo or Newston are great and worth reading, but when it comes to physics (and not history of physics) it's better to read new books.

So, I would recomment to read "My System", but then continue to read "Secrets of Modern Chess Strategy: Advances since Nimzowitsch" by John L. Watson to get a better picture of what is wrong and what is right.

The best one for understanding the game:
    Kmoch's "Pawn Power in Chess"

    The best for recreational reading:
Nunn's "Understanding Chess Move by Move"

My favorite chess books are probably Chess for Dummies and Lazlo Polgar's 5334 Chess Problems, since those are the two books that got me started in chess.

But from an instructional/improvement perspective, my three favorites are Silman's Complete Endgame Course, Silman's How to Reassess Your Chess (the fourth edition is amazing), and Vukovic's Art of Attack in Chess.
