    Smile TV Chessbase

Every friday at 5 pm server time (UTC +1h) the live show TV Chessbase is on air. The language is in german and only in a few instances it's in english (for example when Nigel Short was there as a guest). Moderators are André Schulz (elo about 2100) and IM Oliver Reeh (elo about 2450).

If you have Fritz 12 or if you are a premium playchess.com member you can watch this show for free on the playchess.com server. I like the show pretty much so check it out if you can

What do the presenters usually discuss? Grandmaster games, chess history, non-chess related, or other?

Oh, they talk about a lot of things.

First they start with chess tactics which are presented by IM Reeh and the audience is supposed to solve them. That tactic section takes about 20 minutes and after that they present 1 or 2 games with comments and analysis. Quite often they have guests there, e.g. Gustafson, Knaak, Short, Meier, Aronjan, etc. Even Kramnik was in one show and hew as analysing one of his games (at the Dortmund tournament). Usually the show is in german, but sometimes it is in english (when they have a top GM there who can't speak german). Besides chess, you get background information about tournaments and the chess world in general and some first hand informations and rumors

In the end they usually talk about soccer (5 minutes).

They haven't uploaded the last three shows yet. That's sad
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.
